Haig Aivazian is an artist based in Beirut. During his work as artistic director of the Beirut Art Center (2020-2022) he founded the online magazine thederivative.org
Santi Mas de Xaxàs Faus is an activist at PAH (Plataforma de Afectadas por la Hipoteca; engl. ), a Spanish grassroots organization that fights for the right to housing. PAH is a horizontal, nonviolent, assembly-based and nonpartisan movement. To the download of the PAH Handbook published by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
Michael Koppe is a member of the Munich-based new building project Görzer128 part of the Mietshäuser Syndicate.

Raissa Angeli is a visual artist living and working in Nicosia, Cyprus. She works mainly in the field of sculpture.
Natalie Yiaxi is a multidisciplinary artist based in Nicosia. Through the use of different mediums, devices and strategies, her work encompasses an ongoing attempt to capture the ineffable, the unnoticed, and those affectual aspects of everyday life.

On the occasion of the last screening of „The Broken Pitcher“ in Munich, the eponymous record „The Broken Pitcher: A Soundbank“ is being released. Emiddio Vasquez, founder of the label and event series Moneda (Cyprus and Arizona), is present for a performance in which attendants will witness the manufacturing process of the record while engaging in collective listening, leading up to its official release. Natalie Yiaxi ist eine multidisziplinäre Künstlerin aus Nikosia. Durch den Einsatz verschiedener Medien, Geräte und Strategien unternimmt sie in ihrer Arbeit den Versuch, das Unaussprechliche, das Unbemerkte und die affektiven Aspekte des Alltagslebens zu erfassen.

Anlässlich der letzten Vorführung von „The Broken Pitcher“ in München erscheint die gleichnamige Schallplatte „The Broken Pitcher: A Soundbank“. Emiddio Vasquez, Gründer des Labels und der Veranstaltungsreihe Moneda (Zypern und Arizona), ist für eine Performance vor Ort: Die Anwesenden können den Herstellungsprozess der Platte miterleben und diese im Vorfeld ihrer eigentlichen Veröffentlichung gemeinsam hören. In englischer Sprache.

For The Broken Pitcher, the meeting room was reconstructed and furnished by artists. Based on the memory protocols of the family involved and their lawyer, the situation in the bank was re-enacted by actors and filmed. The scene ends with the question: Ιn your opinion, what should the bank employees do? In the second part of the film, we see the different ways in which people react to this question. Their answers reflect the perspectives of various interest groups in Cyprus – housing rights activists in Barcelona, Berlin and Beirut, people who have experienced similar situations, lawyers, economists and artists.

The project The Broken Pitcher relies on collaboration. It addresses the question of how the financial system works and whether it is possible to intervene in its processes and change them. The exhibition in Leipzig presents the walk-in spatial installation, the film, video interviews, photos and research material.

Für The Broken Pitcher wurde der Besprechungsraum nachgebaut und von Künstler:innen ausgestattet. Anhand von Gedächtnisprotokollen der betroffenen Familie und ihres Rechtsanwalts wurde die Situation in der Bank mit Schauspieler:innen nachgestellt und gefilmt. Die Szene endet mit der Frage: Was sollten die Bankangestellten Ihrer Meinung nach tun? Im zweiten Teil des Films sieht man, wie verschiedene Personen auf diese Frage reagieren. Ihre Antworten spiegeln die Perspektiven verschiedener Interessengruppen in Zypern, von Mietaktivist:innen in Barcelona, Berlin und Beirut, von Menschen, die Ähnliches erlebt haben sowie von Anwält:innen, Ökonom:innen und Künstler:innen.

Das Projekt The Broken Pitcher setzt auf Zusammenarbeit. Es verhandelt die Frage, wie das Finanzsystem funktioniert und wie man in dessen Abläufe eingreifen und diese verändern könnte. In der Leipziger Ausstellung werden die begehbare Rauminstallation, der Film, Videointerviews und Recherchematerial präsentiert.
